Two former Buffalo Bills players elevated from practice squad on their new teams

Former Buffalo Bills running back Taiwan Jones signed to the practice squad for the New York Giants on August 31 and has been elevated for week one. In addition, former Bills wide receiver Jamison Crowder was elevated by the Washington Commanders to play against the Arizona Cardinals.

Crowder and the Bills agreed to a one-year contract worth $1.12 million in 2022. The slot receiver signed with the Giants for OTAs and training camp but was released in late August before he was picked up by the Commanders practice squad on September 6 and elevated to the active roster on September 9.

He played in four games last season before he broke his ankle against the Ravens in week four. Crowder totaled 60 yards on six receptions as a Bill.

Jones signed with the Bills in 2017 as a free agent. He played for Buffalo from 2017-2018, then again for the 2020-2022 seasons. He was a member of the Houston Texans for the 2019 season.

The running back has played in 136 career games with no starts and has totaled 223 rushing yards on 53 carries. He had six total targets as a Bill for 11 yards while being a core special teams player for the team.
