For the fifth time in nine days, the New York Yankees have placed a pitcher on the injured list.
Right before Game 1 of Tuesday’s doubleheader, the club announced that Jonathan Loáisiga was placed on the 15-day IL with right elbow inflammation.
Zach McAllister was selected to a Major League contract and added to the roster from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to take Loáisiga’s spot.
Additionally, Anthony Rizzo was transferred to the 60-day IL.
