HS football: Port Richmond finally plays a home game, but Raiders fall short on new grid

For the first time in four years, Port Richmond took the field on its own campus for a formal football home-opener on Thursday. The schoolโ€™s gridiron underwent massive renovations in October of 2019 and numerous setbacks rendered it unplayable until just last month.

Unfortunately, the pomp and circumstance surrounding the field couldnโ€™t deter the outcome on it, as the Raiders dropped a 33-24 decision to visiting New Utrecht. Port Richmond fell to 1-1 overall and 0-1 in the PSAL.
