The New York Mets made a handful of roster moves ahead of Thursday’s series finale against the Miami Marlins, which included putting utility man Jeff McNeil on the 10-day injured list with a sprained left elbow.
McNeil played in Game 1 of Wednesday’s doubleheader, going 1-for-4 with an RBI, but did not play in the nightcap.
Danny Mendick was called up from Triple-A Syracuse to replace McNeil on the roster.
McNeil finished the 2023 season strong after a brutal start. The veteran hit .270/.333/.378 with 10 home runs, 55 runs batted in, 10 steals, and 75 runs scored in 648 plate appearances.
