SCARSDALE – The Scarsdale School District will conduct a planned testing of the district’s new automated lockdown system this weekend. The testing is a critical part of the district’s migration to this new system – so there is no reason to be alarmed, village officials said.
The testing will include triggering of an automated lockdown announcement that will broadcast on the outdoor speakers of each building. The announcement will consist of an automated voice announcing, “Lockdown, lockdown, lockdown, the building is in lockdown.” Residents may hear this announcement more than once during the testing period.
The times during which you may hear a lockdown announcement at the respective buildings include Saturday September 30, Quaker Ridge, 7:30 a.m. -9 a.m.; Heathcote, 8 a.m.-10 a.m.; Edgewood, 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.; Fox Meadow, 10 a.m. -1 p.m.; Greenacres, 12 p.m. -2 p.m.; and Sunday, October 1, high school, 8 a.m.-11 a.m.; and the middle school, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
