Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon says he won’t fight a state plan to send migrants with work permits to fill open jobs in Central New York, but he’s concerned the initiative could mean a lot of problems for counties.
McMahon said he received no information from state officials about the proposal unveiled Monday by Gov. Kathy Hochul that seeks to fill 18,000 open jobs across New York with migrants who have obtained legal work status.
