Extra Extra: Wonder Bread is still thriving

It’s Tuesday afternoon in New York City, where you can’t eat the food from this East Village bagel shop.

Bagels, especially of the New York City variety, are truly works of art. British artist Lucy Sparrow thinks so, too, so she made felt versions of them that are now on display (and available for purchase) at her pop-up shop. Felt latkes and coffees are also for sale.

Here’s what else is going on:

• The search is on for the person responsible for stealing two fish statues worth $6,000 from a Long Island plant nursery.
• A Manhattanite just beat the record for the fastest swim around Staten Island, clocking in at 14 hours and 24 minutes — six minutes faster than the previous record set last month.
