Third-prize Powerball ticket sold at convenience store in Erie County

Nobody won the billion-dollar jackpot in Monday evening’s Powerball drawing, but one lucky player bought a third-prize ticket at a convenience store in Erie County, New York Lottery officials reported.

The ticket, worth $50,000, was purchased in the 7-Eleven store at 1100 Southwestern Blvd., West Seneca. It was one of seven third-prize winners in New York State.

The winning numbers were 12, 26, 27, 43 and 47, with a Powerball number of 5. Third prize winners match the Powerball number plus four other numbers.

Powerball numbers are drawn from a field of 1 to 26. The other numbers are chosen from a list of 1 to 69. Drawings are held Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evenings.
