STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Excitement rippled through the borough earlier this year when a Crumbl Cookie sign appeared at the South Shore Commons of Tottenville. Now with its iconic pink boxes in the inventory and stand-up mixers in place, the famed factory readies to open.

North Shore residents Aimee and Rob Tarantino hope to open before the end of October at 2955 Veterans Road West, formerly a storefront. By January, another Crumbl under their tutelage will come to a newly constructed building at 423 Forest Ave., West Brighton.

“It was always what I wanted to do — sell cookies,” said Aimee. She and husband Rob tasted the product and loved it.
The Utah-based company is known for its continually rotating cookie menu. By tradition, flavors for the week are announced each Sunday night at 7 p.m. Staples include the classic chocolate chip with little riffs on the recipe — sometimes with milk chocolate chips, sometimes dark.

Bakers build batches from scratch — crafting dough, breaking it down into balls, roasting in the oven and applying toppings. These locations will not hire drivers from the get-go but employ third-party delivery services. Crumbl also offers catering for parties. When the stores open, orders for small or large-sized can be placed three days in advance.
