Three busted for strongarm robbery

POUGHKEEPSIE – A Friday morning strongarm robbery in Poughkeepsie resulted in three arrests. One of the suspects captured had a felony warrant for a kidnapping charge from Greensboro, NC.

Police arrested Timothy Greller, 27, Amari Williams, 25, and 18-year-old Richard “Dick” Johnson on felony robbery charges after the trio allegedly tried to rob a man on Canon Street just before 10:00 a.m.  Friday.  The three men allegedly approached the victim and began beating him before stealing his property and running away.

Police were summoned and began investigating immediately. The names and descriptions were obtained and broadcast to patrol units who located and arrested the suspects.

All three were charged with felony robbery and held pending arraignment.

Johnson was held for extradition on a kidnapping warrant from North Carolina.
