The Green-Wood Cemetery and Printique, a photo printing service owned by camera and electronics retail firm Adorama, have launched a photography contest, โA Moment in Time,โ inviting both novice and expert photographers to capture the wonder and excitement of exploring the beauty, history and vibrant life within Green-Wood.
Participants are encouraged to submit images that showcase their perspectives of this storied landmark and beloved community green space. Whether itโs a striking monument, a bird frozen mid-flight, a concert in the Catacombs or the serene beauty of a stroll through the cemetery, they want to see the unforgettable moments youโve encountered during your visits.
โWeโre excited to see how our visitors capture the essence of Green-Wood,โ said Harry J. Weil, vice president of education and programming at The Green-Wood Cemetery. โThis photo contest and exhibition is a wonderful opportunity to showcase what the nearly half million people who step through our gates love about the Cemetery.โ
Selected images will be printed by Printique and prominently displayed along Green-Woodโs fence this fall, giving the community an outdoor exhibition that celebrates the historic landmark.

โAt Printique, we believe in the power of photography to tell stories and preserve memories,โ said Gabrielle Grace, social media manager at Printique. โWe are thrilled to partner with Green-Wood on this project, as it allows us to honor the unique perspectives of our community while celebrating a cherished landmark.โ
The contest runs through Aug. 30, 2024. A panel of staff members from Green-Wood and Printique will select 10 winning photographs. Winners will be notified via email after the closing date.ย
