Brooklyn detectives are looking for the suspect who shot a man dead at a public housing complex on Saturday evening.
Law enforcement sources said Deon Williams, 32, was gunned down at the Sumner Houses located at 68 Marcus Garvey Blvd. in Bedford-Stuyvesant at about 6:26 p.m. on July 13.
Officers from the 79th Precinct and NYPD PSA 3, in responding to a 911 call about the shooting, found Williams, who lived at the complex on nearby Park Avenue, unconscious and unresponsive at the location. He sustained a bullet wound to his torso.
EMS rushed the victim to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation, police said.
Through July 7, according to the most recent CompStat report, the 79th Precinct had seen just two homicides and 11 shootings year-to-date, down from five murders and 12 shootings at the same point in 2023.
