Brooklyn police seek suspect who shot man dead steps away from nightclub

Brooklyn police are looking for the suspect who shot a 23-year-old man to death near a nightclub early on Saturday morning.

The victim was found steps away from the Trendz Lounge at 8906 Ditmas Ave. in Canarsie at about 4:28 a.m. on March 16, police reported.

Officers from the 67th Precinct made the grave discovery while responding to a 911 call about the shooting. The victim, whose identity has been withheld pending family notification, suffered a gunshot wound to his head, authorities reported.

EMS rushed the man to Brookdale University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation, police said.

Through March 10, the 67th Precinct had reported just one shooting and one homicide year-to-date in 2024, according to the most recent CompStat report. Overall crime is down 1.26% for the year.
