The Brooklyn man accused of killing two neighbors over a noise complaint on Sunday night was shot and killed by law enforcement agents Wednesday morning after he lunged at cops with a knife, police reported.
Jason Pass, 47, was rushed to NYU Langone Brooklyn where he was pronounced dead.
Pass had been wanted for executing 47-year-old Bladimy Mathurin and 27-year-old stepson Mode Chinwai inside an apartment building on Brooklyn Avenue. Both victims were shot in the head and torso.
Police say Pass lived below his victims and had an ongoing feud with them due to loud footsteps coming from above that dated back to March of last year.
Chief of Department Jeffrey Maddrey said that the events which led to Pass’ demise unfolded just after 7 a.m. on Nov. 1 outside of a residence on Bay 44th Street in Bath Beach, when patrolling cops spotted a car parked on the street still with the suspect inside.
“A uniformed patrol car from the 60th Precinct was on patrol in a vehicle that was equipped with license plate reader technology,” Chief Maddrey said, adding that the cops ran the license plate and found that car was connected to Pass and the Oct. 29 double homicide in East Flatbush,“The officers call for backup.”
As cops approached the car, Pass apparently exited the vehicle holding a knife and was swiftly surrounded by law enforcement where they attempted to convince him to drop it. Things took a turn for the worse when police said he suddenly lunged at them with the weapon in hand after telling the cops that “It’s not going to end well.”
Officers reportedly fired multiple times, striking Pass across the body, including the chest and right leg.
