Raising Cane’s, the beloved food chain with roots in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has opened its fourth New York City location — and just second spot in Brooklyn — inside Fulton Mall.
Known for its iconic chicken finger meals, Raising Cane’s sauce, and “ONE LOVE” brand, the chain ushered in its newest location with a fun disco-themed party on Jan. 30, complete with free entertainment and giveaways.
The brand’s mission — ‘ONE LOVE’ of just good, old-fashioned chicken fingers — fits perfectly with its new location, leaders said.
“Spread love, it’s the Brooklyn way!” said Kevin Comeaux, area leader of restaurants for Raising Cane’s. “We’re so grateful for the warm reception we’ve received in New York and couldn’t be more excited to spread our ‘ONE LOVE’ to Downtown Brooklyn.”
Starting at 7 a.m. on Jan. 30, hungry locals lined up along the corner of Fulton and Jay Street and were welcomed by Brooklyn-based DJs CHATA, Joy Joseph, and Anthony Velez.
To start the event off, 20 customers were awarded free Raising Cane’s for a whole year, courtesy of the company and the comedian and food critic Lil Mo Mozzarella, who read off the names of the lucky winners.
Soon after, distinguished guests from the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership and Community Board 2 helped cut a ceremonial ribbon on the new establishment. During the ceremony, Raising Cane’s also presented a donation to the Center for Brooklyn History at the Brooklyn Public Library and Elite Learners — a local cure violence group — to help demonstrate the business’ commitment to their new community.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, all guests and customers were treated to fresh coffee and hot chocolate from Brooklyn Roasting Company as they waited in line for their orders.
