Firefighters battled a fire that broke out in a home in Brighton Beach on Tuesday afternoon.
Units received numerous phone calls reporting the fire at 3067 Brighton 3rd Street on June 11. FDNY units arrived just before 1 p.m. to find heavy fire and smoke venting from the basement of a two-story brick home.
Fire Department personnel forced entry as fire was blowing over their heads. Units consisting of sixty firefighters from 12 units aggressively attacked the fire with two hose lines.
Searches throughout the basement, first and second floor were negative. The fire was placed under control at 1:45 p.m.
The FDNY Fire Marshals Office will determine the cause of the fire.Â
