The killer who shot a man dead at a Brooklyn apartment building early on Sunday morning remains at large at this time, police reported.
Law enforcement sources said the deadly shooting occurred at about 1:02 a.m. on March 10 at 673 Sterling Place in Crown Heights.
Officers from the 77th Precinct, in responding to a 911 call about a man shot, found the 40-year-old male victim at the scene with a bullet wound to his torso.
EMS rushed him to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police have withheld the man’s identity, pending family notification.
So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation, police said.

Through March 3, according to the most recent CompStat report, the 77th Precinct registered three homicides and two shootings year-to-date. At the previous point in 2023, it had just one homicide and one shooting.
