Crooks sought for striking victim with cane during East Harlem subway snatch

The suspects, cops say, struck a 67-year-old man over the head with a cane before robbing him of his cell phone in an East Harlem subway station on Monday, May 29.

Cops are looking for the pair of crooks they say struck a 69-year-old man over the head with a cane before robbing him inside of an East Harlem subway station on Memorial Day.

Authorities say the victim entered the East 125th Street and Lexington Avenue station at around 7 p.m. on Monday, May 29, when he was approached from behind by two unknown men. Police say the two individuals struck the victim in the head with a cane before swiping his cell phone and fleeing the station.

The victim sustained a laceration to his face but refused medical attention, according to cops.

The first suspect is described by police as a 5โ€™10โ€ tall, 180 pound man with a dark complexion, a thin build and a beard. He was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, a blue tie-dye t-shirt with an orange butterfly on it and light-colored pants.

The second suspect is described by police as a man with a dark complexion, a thin build and facial hair. He was last seen wearing a black du-rag, a black t-shirt and black pants. Both men are said to be in their 20s.
