STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — If you’re thinking of becoming an EMT, take note: 10 scholarships are now available for Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) courses on Staten Island, Staten Island University Hospital has announced.
The scholarships to the Training Institute for Medical Emergencies and Rescue are being offered in memory of fallen EMT Joseph Russo and fallen Paramedics Brian Saddler and David Restuccio.
They are available to those over the age of 17 for courses beginning in February 2024.
Those interested must apply by Nov. 30 at 11:59 p.m. by emailing [email protected] with the following information:
- Age, address, phone number
- Unofficial high school or college transcript
- A cover letter, submitted as a PDF file answering the following question: Why do you want to be an EMT?
- A letter of recommendation and references
- A copy of driver’s license. Driving records will be reviewed.
