It’s that time of year, so you know the annual Dr. Theodore A. Atlas Foundation Dinner is near.
The 27th rendition of the annual fundraiser is set to return to the Hilton Garden Inn on Staten Island on Thursday, Nov. 16. The cocktail hour will begin at 6 P.M. with the dinner running from 7:15 to 10 P.M.
A live auction will take place during the event. Those interested in attending or sponsoring can visit the foundation’s website for tickets or more information.
Of course, boxing Hall of Famer Teddy Atlas will be on hand, while longtime sports broadcasters Bob Papa and Brian Kenny will emcee the event. UConn head basketball coach Danny Hurley, New York Rangers broadcaster Sam Rosen, and UFC Hall of Famer Rashad Evans will also be in the house.
Sports personality Chris “Mad Dog” Russo, as well as actors Tony Danza and Tracy Morgan, are also slated to appear. Former New York Ranger and Staten Island native Nick Fotiu will also be in attendance.
New York Yankees broadcaster Michael Kay is the recipient of this year’s Jack Newfield Award, but is not expected to attend in person. Sean Kelleher (Humanitarian Award), Michael Fazio (Champion Award), and Keith Hannan (Admiral Award) will also be honored.

The dinner, of course, is about more than just celebrity and the foundation relies on its proceeds to fuel its many charitable endeavors throughout the year. This year, funds will be especially geared toward the foundation’s food pantry, which serves those in need on S.I. and throughout the city.
The mental health, education, and anti-violence programs will also be aided through the event.
