Basketball and improvisation go hand in hand, but Wagner College coach Donald Copeland has, by necessity, gone to extremes and it has resulted in one of the nation’s most unlikely postseason runs.
Copeland has had seven healthy scholarship players for about the last two-thirds of the season, and somehow that short-handed squad is one victory away from earning a spot in the NCAA Tournament and seeing their school’s name pop up in the bracket on Selection Sunday.
