Deion Sanders rules out a slew of NFL teams for his QB son: What about Giants, Jets, Eagles?

When Colorado coach Deion Sanders talks about where he wants his son to play in the NFL, he sounds a lot like songwriter Harry Nilsson in “Everybody’s Talkin’”:

I’m goin’ where the sun keeps shinin’

Through the pourin’ rain

Goin’ where the weather suits my clothes

“I don’t want [Shedeur] going nowhere cold next year,” Sanders told Chris “Mad Dog” Russo, according to Pro Football Talk, during a SiriusXM interview. “He grew up in Texas. He played in Jackson, played in Colorado. Season’s over before it gets cold in Colorado. I’m just thinking way ahead. I don’t want that for him.”

Sounds like Sanders is ruling out the Giants, Jets and Eagles — along with the Bills, for starters. Of those three, the Giants are the most likely to be in the market for a quarterback in 2025.

“Like see, when you take a guy from Ohio State and you bring him to Chicago, OK, I could understand that,” Sanders told Russo. “But from California to Chicago? Not only that, they added what? One or two more games in the NFL. Seventeen games. Come on, man. You got to factor in that stuff. That stuff matters.”

Shedeur threw for 3,230 yards and 27 touchdowns last season with Colorado — his firstafter starting his career at Jackson State. He also rushed for four touchdowns. He announced in January he would return to play for his dad in 2024.

The New York Post crunched the (weather) numbers: The Buffaloes’ six home games in 2023 had an average temperature of 59.2 degrees, with the home opener against Nebraska the warmest at 72 and an Oct. 13 game against Stanford the coldest at 44.
