Discard this cheese if you have it. It may be contaminated with listeria, authorities warn

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — If you recently purchased Hilltop Meadow Farm brand 60-Day Aged Pepper Jack Raw Milk Cheese, throw it away, the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture is warning.

The cheese, with best by dates of Sept. 21, 2023 or earlier, has been contaminated with listeria, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration warns.

The report states that after testing the cheese, the presence of the harmful bacteria has led to the recall.

While there have not been any reported illnesses, the PDA advises consumers to be on the lookout.

The tainted cheese is labeled with the words โ€œHilltop Meadow Farmโ€ as well as โ€œFrom A2/A2 Milkโ€ and โ€œMade from 100% Grassfed Cowโ€™s Milk.โ€
