STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A dramatic chase by police during the Tuesday morning rush hour ended behind a popular strip mall on Staten Island.
Officers from the NYPD’s Highway Patrol District 5 were among a large number of police personnel and vehicles that converged in the back of The Boulevard Mall near Mill Road and between Ebbitts and Ina streets around 7:30 a.m. Unconfirmed emergency radio communications indicated that a car was chased through the streets in and around New Dorp before ending up at that location.
Police were seen inspecting a black Inifiniti sedan with temporary plates that jumped a curb and came to a rest with the passenger side next to a small tree. The car had minor damage on the front driver’s side.
More information will be posted when it becomes available.
