Legendary singer Elton John, 76, was briefly hospitalized after a non-life-threatening accident in his home in Nice, France, over the weekend, per the Daily Mail.
The “Candle in the Wind” star had fallen at home in the South of France and was taken to Princess Grace Hospital’s orthopedic center, Monaco, where he was treated.
“We can confirm that following a slip yesterday at his home in the South of France, Elton visited the local hospital as a precautionary measure,” John’s rep said, Monday morning.
“Following check ups, he was immediately discharged this morning [Aug. 28] and is now back at home and in good health.”
The “I’m Still Standing” star has been summering in the French Riviera with his husband, David Furnich, and children, sons Zachary, 12, and Elijah, 10.
He was last seen on his superyacht with celebrity pals in St Tropez on August 22.
During his farewell concert, the Grammy winner thanked his fans for suppporting him throughout his decades-long musical career, as he churched out cherished hits like “Daniel,” “Can You Feel the Love,” “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” and “Rocket Man.”
“I can’t tell you how much I’m going to miss the fans and how much their support has humbled me — it will stay with me forever,” he said.
