STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — This summer, mark your calendar for the “Wilderness Adventure Series,” in which Staten Islanders will get to explore a bountiful of outdoor activities with family and friends for free.
The events — sponsored by Councilman Joseph Borelli (R-South Shore) in collaboration with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation and the New York City Urban Park Rangers — include recreational activities, such as canoeing, nature exploration, archery and overnight camping trips for the entire family.
“Staten Island is known as the ‘Borough of Parks,’ however so many people overlook our beautiful Parks’ properties and go off Island for an adventure,” Borelli said. “These free events will shed some light on what our parks have to offer and provide experiences that are not typically available every day.”
NATURE EXPLORATION: CANOEING & ARCHERY
This summer, via a canoe ride, you can experience lush foliage while you glide across a picturesque pond teeming with vibrant wildlife. You can also immerse yourself in the world of archery as you practice and refine your skills at the archery range.
