STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Twelve FDNY units and 60 firefighters responded to a fire at a two-story home in West Brighton Thursday night.
The “all hands” blaze was reported just before 9 p.m. at a private residence, located at 29 Bement Ave. between Richmond Terrace and Howard Court
The fire originated on the first floor of the residence and was placed under control around 9:40 p.m., an FDNY spokesperson said.
A window on an upper floor of the home could be seen broken out, but no additional damage to the home was immediately visible.
Two firefighters suffered minor injuries and were transported to Richmond University Medical Center, West Brighton, while the cause of the fire is under investigation, the spokesperson said.
