FDNY responds to ‘all hands’ fire at West Brighton home Wednesday night

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Twelve units comprising 60 firefighters responded to a call of a fire at a home in West Brighton Wednesday night.

The all-hands blaze was reported around 6:20 p.m. in the walls of a residence located at 277 Martling Ave., between Brookside Avenue and Manor Road, an FDNY spokesperson said.

The fire was brought under control by around 6:40 p.m. with no injuries reported, the spokesperson said.

Firefighters could be seen entering and exiting the home which appeared to have no immediate external damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, officials said.
