FDNY responds to basement fire at home in Westerleigh Thursday night

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The FDNY responded to a call of a fire at a home in Westerleigh Thursday night.

The all-hands blaze was reported just after 8:30 p.m. in the basement of a two-story residence located at 628 Jewett Ave., an FDNY spokesperson said.

The fire was brought under control by around 9 p.m. with no injuries reported, the spokesperson said.
