FDNY responds to fire at apartment complex on Staten Island

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A fire broke out on the sixth floor of an apartment building in Mariners Harbor Wednesday morning, a spokesperson for the FDNY said.

Twelve units consisting of 60 Fire and EMS personnel were on the scene of the blaze which was reported around 9:30 a.m. at 142 Brabant St., according to the FDNY.

In combatting the fire, firefighters took to the roof above the apartment, which could be seen with broken windows.

While the FDNY reports that the fire resulted in no injuries, the Advance/SILive.com could see responders tending to a dog on the scene.

The fire was brought under control by 10:07 a.m., as reported by the FDNY spokesperson.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
