Former NFL MVP Cam Newton bashes Tua Tagovailoa and Dak Prescott

Former Heisman winner and league MVP Cam Newton became the latest to join a long list of those doubting Miami Dolphinsโ€™ quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and Dallas Cowboysโ€™ signal-caller, Dak Prescott.

Both quarterbacks came off disappointing 2022 seasons and have led their teams to winning records in 2023, each ranking in the top five for passing yards and touchdowns. Prescott and Tagovailoa have rightfully earned spots in the MVP conversation, but they havenโ€™t convinced everyone that theyโ€™re worth the hype.

Newton took to his podcast โ€œ4th & 1 with Cam Newtonโ€ to discuss the MVP competition and quarterback landscape. โ€œBrock Purdy, Tua Tagovailoa, Jared Goff, and really, Dak Prescott, these are game managers, theyโ€™re not difference makers,โ€ Newton said.

Yes, but thatโ€™s not needed for us to win.โ€ The former quarterback continued, โ€œI donโ€™t give a damn what you do, you donโ€™t have to score every time, you just donโ€™t have to throw a pick every time either.โ€

Former NFL interim coach and center with the Indianapolis Colts Jeff Saturday along with former NFL cornerback Dominque Foxworth addressed the comments on ESPNโ€™s morning show โ€œGet Upโ€ Wednesday.
