Former WWE champion Bray Wyatt dies unexpectedly at 36, per reports

Bray Wyatt, a professional wrestler and former WWE champion has died, according to a tweet from company officials.

Wayatt was 36 years old.

The news was announced by Paul โ€œTriple Hโ€ Levesque., WWEโ€™s head of creative, on Thursday.

โ€œJust received a call from WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda who informed us of the tragic news that our WWE family member for life Windham Rotunda โ€“ also known as Bray Wyatt โ€“ unexpectedly passed earlier today,โ€ Triple H tweeted. โ€œOur thoughts are with his family and we ask that everyone respect their privacy at this time.โ€

A cause of death has not been revealed by WWE officials.

Wyatt, 36, first signed with the company in 2009 and was promoted to the main roster three years later.

Wyatt debuted as the leader of โ€œthe Wyatt Family,โ€ along with Luke Harper, who died in 2020 of a respiratory illness, and Erick Rowan.

He held the WWE championship once and the Universal championship twice, and was part of two tag-team championship teams.

Wyatt is survived by his fiancรฉe, former WWE ring announcer JoJo Offerman, their two children and two children from a previous relationship.
