Giants legend accused of hating Jets walks off show

If you turned on WFAN this afternoon and thought, “Is the ‘Beningo and Roberts’ show back?” You probably weren’t alone. Joe Beningo hijacked the “Evan and Tiki” show on Monday after an exchange that caused former Giants running back Tiki Barber to walk off his own show.

The former WFAN host questioned Barber, who threw some support toward Jets quarterback Zach Wilson, in an epic rant.

“Tiki, let me tell you right now,” he began, “you hate the Jets. You would love to see the Jets go 2-15. Stop it!

“You’re a Giant. If this was the situation with the Giants, you’d be screaming to get Wilson the hell out of there. So don’t give me this nonsense.”

Clearly on the defensive, Barber claimed that he never screams. Instead, he said that simply watches and analyzes games.

This wasn’t good enough for Beningo, who continued to attack, while his former cohost Evan Roberts laughed in the background. This time, he got personal.

“All I know is this, yesterday you were in Washingon with the Commanders and the Bills, okay?” He said, via Awful Announcing. “So don’t give me this nonsense how you’re analyzing Zach Wilson. Okay? I don’t want to hear it. It’s B.S. Teek. He stinks!”

With that, Barber announced that he was turning off his microphone.

While opening his water bottle, he can be heard off-mic saying, “That’s bullshit.” Then, he threw his headphones on the desk and walked off.

Wilson was booed at MetLife during the Jets 15-10 loss to the New England Patriots. He completed 18 of 36 passes for 157 yards and no touchdowns in the loss. He was also sacked three times for a total loss of 24 yards.
