A new viral character has emerged in the Tommy DeVito storyline.
It’s the agent of the third-string quarterback, who on Monday led the Giants to a 24-22 prime time victory over the Packers.
With the win, DeVito further cemented himself into the hearts of Giants fans, and now his agent, Sean Stellato, is attracting attention.
Before the game, the “Monday Night Football” broadcast showed DeVito talking to Stellato, who was dressed in a dark pinstripe suit and black fedora. Immediately, images of the agent circulated on social media. Then, when DeVito threw a touchdown pass to Isaiah Hodgins in the third quarter, cameras found the quarterback’s father, Tom, giving Stellato a big kiss on the cheek in celebration.
“Tommy’s father grabbed me and gave me the biggest smooch on the cheek. Him and I, we have a very close relationship. It was one of those moments where we’re just family,” Stellato said, via Jordan Raanan of ESPN. “When you really care about someone and you’re excited, a kiss is kind of sacred in our heritage. I’m a reciprocator. I wanted to let him know this is how I feel, too.
“Then the beauty of it then, it was like in sync and ricocheted to his son Max. It was pretty special. It was cool. At the end of the day, it wasn’t staged. It was organic. Everyone got a kick out of it.”
DeVito took over the Giants’ starting role after injuries to Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor left the undrafted rookie next in line for the job. Since then, the chicken cutlet-loving NJ native has grabbed the hearts of the Giants fanbase as he’s gone 3-1 with 855 yards passing yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions.
