STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A grand jury has indicted a Stapleton man on charges stemming from a wild rush-hour car chase last month near a shopping plaza in New Dorp.
Sir Hoilette, 26, of the 100 block of Osgood Avenue, was arraigned Nov. 29 in state Supreme Court, St. George, on charges including assault with a vehicle, driving while intoxicated, assault of an officer, fleeing officers and aggravated unlicensed operation stemming from an incident police said unfolded just after 7 a.m. on a Tuesday.
Video from the scene showed nearly a dozen police vehicles on Ebbitts Street as a helicopter hovered nearby.

The officer at the time was listed in stable condition at Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze.
Defense attorney Kelvin Richards said Tuesday his client “denies the allegations and will have his day in court.”
Bail was posted for the defendant, records show.
