STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Honda has recalled hundreds of thousands of 2023-2024 Accord and HR-V vehicles that could potentially increase injuries during a crash.
The vehicles are being recalled due to a missing piece in the front seat belt pretensions, according to Honda and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The piece is used to tighten seat belts in place upon impact.
According to Honda, 303,700 vehicles were potentially involved in this recall. NHTSA reported in its findings that Honda has had โseven warranty claims, and no reports of injuries or deaths related to this issueโ through Nov. 16.
Registered owners of 2023-2024 Accords or HR-Vs are being contacted by mail and asked to take their vehicles to an authorized Honda dealer for an inspection. Once an inspection is completed, if necessary, the seat belt pretension assembly will be replaced, Honda reported on its site.
