Petrides rallied from a dismal, first-half shooting performance by turning up the defensive pressure to create offense and the result was a 55-46 non-league win over PSAL foe New Utrecht Thursday in Sunnyside.
The Panthers were once again led by their core four of Charles Steele (16 points, three rebounds, three assists), Jaden Allyson (15 points, eight boards, five assists, three thefts), Wisdom King (12 points, eight caroms) and Shadrach Akakeya (10 points, 15 rebounds, three blocks, three steals). With the win, coach Nick Lezoli’s troops improved to 15-5 overall with three-regular season games remaining.
