For the first time in four years, Port Richmond took the field on its own campus for a formal football home-opener on Thursday. The schoolโs gridiron underwent massive renovations in October of 2019 and numerous setbacks rendered it unplayable until just last month.
Unfortunately, the pomp and circumstance surrounding the field couldnโt deter the outcome on it, as the Raiders dropped a 33-24 decision to visiting New Utrecht. Port Richmond fell to 1-1 overall and 0-1 in the PSAL.
