St. Joseph by-the-Sea’s first varsity wrestling victory over mighty Monsignor Farrell in more than 30 years last week was a few years in the making.
The turnaround in the Viking wrestling program can be traced back to the school’s hiring of head coach Corey Hannah for the 2018-19 season. Prior to Hannah’s appointment the program was struggling with numbers. However, due to the retired FDNY member’s tireless work, the Vikings wrestling program is now thriving.
