This offseason, the Jets made their “Legacy”” uniforms their permanent away attire. These uniforms — that the Jets sported from 1978 to 1989 — consist of a white jersey and white pants with a green stripe down the side. According to SportsLogos.net, the retro logo used from 1978 to 1997 will become the team’s primary logo. The Jets wore these uniforms twice last year – the Week 1 win over Buffalo and the Week 4 loss to Kansas City.
Jets owner Woody Johnson revealed the news of the new uniforms minutes after the Chiefs beat the 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII.
“You know what? We’ve been thinking about this long enough. Let’s just do this,” Johnson said in the video posted to X.
