STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — We may still be months away from March Madness, but hoops fever is sweeping across Staten Island as the borough’s high school basketball season gets underway.
In episode 59 of the podcast, host Erik Bascome is joined by SILive/Advance Sports Reporters Nick Regina and Charlie DeBiase to discuss the paper’s coverage of the borough’s high school basketball season.
“You don’t find something like this in any other place in the country,” said DeBiase on the Island’s thanksgiving eve basketball eve tradition. “There were six or seven games Wednesday night. The Farrell-Sea game I’m sure was a zoo, just like St. Peter’s-Curtis was.”
Over the years the Advance has been renowned for its hoops coverage throughout the Island. Check out the High School Sports page for continuous in-depth coverage all season long.
