After running a gauntlet of extra-inning, nail biters to claim the District 24 12s All-Star softball championship on Staten Island, Mid-Island flipped the script Friday as it added the Section 3 title to its resume behind a dominating, 13-0 mercy-rule, no-hitter over Hillcrest Little League of Yonkers on its home field in Travis.
M-I will now represent New York City in the state championship tournament slated to begin on July 18.
