Longtime New York TV news anchor signs off from PIX11

After more than 15 years of delivering the news to residents across the tri-state area, anchor Tamsen Fadal signed off from PIX11 on Friday.

Fadal has won 13 Emmys over the 30 years sheโ€™s spent as a news anchor and reporter. She worked at news stations around the country before coming to New York City.

โ€œThe excellence Tamsen has shown as an anchor in this community has been invaluable to us as a station. But even more important, Tamsen has served as a role model for countless young journalists and been a force for many of our viewers,โ€ said PIX11 News Director Nicole Tindiglia.

On her website, Fadal describes herself as โ€œa pioneering voice for menopause advocacy, an Emmy Award winning TV journalist and podcast host.โ€

โ€œTamsen has spent the last 30 years reporting on stories of hope and resiliency. Today, she uses her platform to share stories about menopause, career shifts and relationships at midlife,โ€ the site reads.

On Instagram, Fadal posted on Friday, โ€œI obviously had to wear pink on my last day. Itโ€™s so important to dress for confidence whether it be your last day at work or any other day!โ€

A series of comments were posted to wish the long-time anchor well.

โ€œThis has been the day I never wanted to think aboutโ€ฆ Iโ€™m heartbroken at the thought of not having you LIVE in my living room to come home to everyday after work,โ€ wrote one Instagram user. โ€œHowever, Iโ€™m excited & anxious to see where your next journey will take youโ€ฆ I KNOW that whatever you do, you will be a great success. Love you for all that youโ€™ve given me (& the rest of NY) for well over a decade. Missing you alreadyโ€ฆ. Please stay connected!!! xo from Long Island!โ€
