STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — It’s almost time to kick off the holiday season with spectators, giant balloons, floats and entertainers during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
The 97th annual holiday celebration will take to the streets of Manhattan on Thursday, Nov. 23, or Thanksgiving Day, beginning at 9 a.m.
The spectacle will delight New York City spectators and a national television audience with its signature mix of giant character helium balloons, fantastic floats, marching bands, performance groups, celebrities, clowns, and of course, Santa Claus.
The event will air nationwide on NBC from 9 a.m. to noon. It will also be available to stream via Peacock.

The parade will kick off at West 77th Street & Central Park West, as it moves down Central Park West until it makes a turn onto Central Park South. The parade then heads south onto Sixth Avenue. It continues south until the parade makes its final turn and stops in front of Macy’s Herald Square.
There will be 21 balloons inflated for this year’s parade, including new balloons like Beagle Scout Snoopy, Blue Cat & Chugs and Monkey D. Luffy. Six balloonicles will ride down the parade route, as well as 26 floats.
The performers have yet to be announced.
And you have the chance to see the Macy’s balloon inflation event this year — when the parade folks inflate the giant balloons on the eve of Thanksgiving, allowing visitors to watch them as they come to life. Macy’s signature giant character balloons will be prepared for their Thanksgiving Day flight on Wednesday, Nov. 22, from noon to 6 p.m. on the Upper West Side.
