Man sought for questioning in connection with robbery on Staten Island

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The NYPD is asking for the public’s help to identify an individual sought for questioning in connection with an incident where a group allegedly assaulted and robbed a man on Victory Boulevard in Castleton Corners.

The alleged attack occurred on Dec. 8 at about 1:15 a.m. on the 1700 block of Victory Boulevard near Todt Hill Road, according to a statement from the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.

A 47-year-old man told police he was approached by a group of unidentified individuals. A verbal dispute escalated when the individuals allegedly punched and kicked the victim multiple times on his face and body, the police statement said.

The individuals then allegedly used force to snatch a necklace valued at about $1,000 from the victim’s neck, the NYPD statement said.

The individuals fled the location on foot.

The victim sustained minor injuries and refused medical attention at the scene, police said.

The NYPD released to the media photos of an individual who is being sought for questioning in connection with the alleged incident.

Police described him as a male, about 18 to 21 years old who has a dark complexion and dreads.
