Jose Quintana will finally make his debut as a New York Met.

The left-hander is done with his rehab assignment and expects to make his first start for the club next week against the White Sox, according to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com.

Quintana underwent bone graft surgery in March to repair his fractured rib. The 34-year-old veteran was added to the Mets rotation this offseason on a two-year, $26 million contract.

“I can’t wait man,” Quintana said, per DiComo. “I’m so excited.”

Quintana made his MLB debut in 2012 with the Chicago White Sox and has also spent time with the Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Angels, San Francisco Giants, Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Cardinals.

Quintana will add depth to a shaky Mets rotation made up of other veteran pitchers. When he returns, he’ll take the rotation spot that David Peterson is currently filling. With Quintana out for the first half of the season, Peterson and Tylor Megill have combined for a 5.73 ERA.

Quintana threw 79 pitches over 4 1/3 innings in his most recent rehab start.

“I’m feeling close, excited. I’m working so hard to be in this position,” Quintana said last month, via Belle Fraser of the New York Post. “I’m going to keep working hard and be in the best shape I can be.”
