N.J. girls soccer coach arrested, fired after allegedly shoving player

Red Bank Catholic fired girls soccer coach Frank Lawrence last month after he was arrested in Little Silver and issued a summons for allegedly pushing a player during a summer workout.

Police were summoned by the player’s father after she called and told him that Lawrence “shoved her in the chest” following the coach and player exchanging words in the middle of the practice on July 19, according to the player’s father. NJ Advance Media is withholding the identity of the father and player for the protection of the player, who is a minor.
