If you thought day one of the New York State 12-year-old All-Star Baseball Tournament was eventful, you hadn’t seen anything yet. The four teams in the American bracket were back at it on Tuesday at Great Kills LL with a pair of tightly-contested contests.
East Greenbush-Castleton (2-0) is the lone unbeaten team standing following two action-packed days on the All-Star circuit and the boys from upstate NY needed extra-innings to remain that way. EGC squandered a 3-0 lead before rallying to pull out a 9-5, eight-inning win over Massapequa Coast (1-1) in the afternoon contest.
Meanwhile, Saratoga Springs (1-1) gained the win column with a 5-3 triumph over Penfield (0-2) in the morning tilt.
