STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — There were six lucky winners recently in New York state who scored $50,000 with third-prize Powerball tickets — including two winners with tickets sold in New York City.
The New York Lottery announced the six winning tickets for the April 3 drawing matched four white balls and the red Powerball.
Two of the winning tickets were sold in New York City, including Lucky Choice Convience, located at 118 W 72nd St. and Riverside Gourmet Market, located at 3779 Broadway — both in Manhttan.
Other winning tickets were each sold at the following locations: 7-Eleven, located at 640 Pine Aire Dr., in Bay Shore; Bedford Hills Deli, located at 7 Babbitt Rd., in Bedford Hills; Smokes 4 Less, located at 59 North Plank Rd., in Newburgh; 7-Eleven, located at 6444 Olean Rd., in South Wales.
Winning numbers for the April 3 Powerball drawing are white balls 11, 38, 41, 62, 65 and red Powerball 15. The next drawing on Saturday has a massive jackpot estimated at $1.23 billion.
There were four third-prize Powerball tickets sold in New York state during Monday’s drawing. Three of the winning tickets were sold in New York City — including: Doleh Supermarket, located at 1689 Eighth Ave., Brooklyn; AM & PM Grocery, located at 6223 Ft .Hamilton Parkway in Brooklyn; Players Cafe, located at 241 Bleecker St., in Manhattan. Another winning ticket was sold at 7-Eleven, located at 374 Route 25A, in Rocky Point, New York.
The winning numbers for the Powerball game are drawn from a field of one to 69. The Powerball number is drawn from a separate field of one to 26. In order to win the jackpot, players must match all five white balls in any order and the red Powerball number.
Powerball tickets can be purchased at any New York Lottery retailer for $2, seven days a week. The deadline for purchasing a ticket is 10 p.m. on draw nights.
