STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — One lucky winner secured a jackpot-winning Take 5 ticket valued at $38,846.50 from a deli in the Bronx, the N.Y. Lottery announced Saturday.
The ticket, purchased at Ranch Mini Market and Deli Inc. — located at 2739 White Plains Rd. — was sold as part of Friday’s Take 5 evening drawing, according to the New York Lottery.
The winning numbers for the Friday, Feb. 23, Take 5 evening drawing were 2, 8, 13, 17 and 19.
Take 5 numbers are drawn from a field of one through 39. To win the Take 5 jackpot, match the five numbers on your ticket to the winning five-number combination drawn. Each game costs $1 to play.
The drawing is broadcast on television twice daily at 2:30 and 10:30 p.m. Take 5 players with midday and evening draws on the same ticket must check their numbers at nylottery.ny.gov to determine if they have the winning numbers for the corresponding midday or evening drawing.
The odds of winning the TAKE 5 jackpot is 1 in 575,757, according to New York Lottery. Overall odds of winning a Take 5 prize in general are 1 in 8.77.
